Some of the areas I mow in are not exactly trailer friendly if you know what I mean. So I am forced to use a 21" when I need to be using a larger mower. Is there a ramp system (besides 2 planks of wood!) that would enable me to easily load an unload a larger walk behind into and out of my truck bed? Does anyone use something like this? Any information would be helpful. For those of you who do use two planks of wood, how do you keep them from sliding? Thanks!

I use two regular wooden ramps and it is easy to go up and down

I use some metal ramps for larger equipment (aerators, power rake) from my truck bed. I got them at Harbor Freight tools, and have worked out great. For the 21" I just lift in and out of the bed. I work solely from my truck, no trailer as of yet. As a safety, what you can do is drill though the ramps some bolts, and drill holes that would line up in your tailgate, and simply insert the ramps into the holes, so they don't slip out. Of course, it depends on if you want to do this to your truck. Mine is a little older, and another hole or two doesn't bother me, it gives it character! :D

what size w/b mower are you thinking about putting into your truck bed?

the reason i ask is b/c i'm in the process of buyin an 48'' w/b and am wondering if it will fit.... BTW my truck is my avatar, and it has an 8ft bed.... what size bed is your truck?

since i don't have an w/b as of rite now, i do not put any mower of that size in my bed, but i can give you some help on the ramps.... i use a metal ramp from sears that i use for loading and unloading my atv from my truck.... the ramp cost me about $150 i think but mine is a very heavy grade, i recommend it... but then again you can get ones that cost ya from $60, hope this helps :)

Thanks guys. C-man, thanks for the links, very helpful. Just what I was looking 4. I think Twins idea is really good, since I already have some plastic ramps, but they slip off sometimes. Anyway, thanks again!

Coat the bottoms of the ramps with Herceliner the brush on bed liner. I did it to mine and they dont slip off the tailgate anymore. Better then drilling holes
