For those of you in the South, when is the best time to plant bulbs? I noticed a few retailers advertising bulb selection and I don't want to miss out. I'm not sure about your cities but last year Caladiums were everywhere.

You can plant caladiums when ever. I planted some in aug. last year they bloomed before the end of the season. Some things though you are to late. I usually put tulips in about a month after we plant pansies. Some bulbs like hycnth have to feel the tempature changes to know when to start. You can put them in and leave them till next year I have never had a problem with this.
