Although I'm likely switching to Gravelys, I'm also considering getting one rear-discharge mower to maintain some "rough" properties that are near some homes and roadways. Finely shredded clippings are not a must but no rock throwing is.

I know Hustler has one but does anyone else make a rear-discharge mower? Also, for those who have one, how do they compare to side discharge machines in price?

Ya ferris has one of their big models with a rear discharge option. Makes sense to me to cut down on liability.

Are you looking for a Walker, Exmark Navigator type rear discharge mower?

    No.

I have a common area in a "rough" neighborhood. It's a 7.5 hour job by myself and fairly rugged conditions. Lots of rocks and trash. After that, I mow an electrical contractor company with a pretty big property. Again, lots of rocks. Both properties need a good cut but it's mostly common bermuda so finely shredded clippings aren't a big deal.

Both properties have a lot of roadside mowing with heavy traffic. Lots of rocks and heavy traffic do not mix very well.:nono:
