I just noticed I posted in the wrong thread yesterday.

Has anybody ever used this kind of seed? I haven't had the chance to call or take a drive to a john deere landscapes to see what's they have. I saw someone at Lowes buy 2 25lb bags of it today. I asked him if he had ever used it before and he said no. He usually buys the pennington but thought he would try the rebel elite this time. Is it worth buying?

Yeah I called the john deere landscapes earlier and he said all they sell is bermuda and ryegrass. He can get it but takes a week or so to get it. They only sell 50lb. bags. I only need 25lb because my front yard is only 3,224 sq.ft. I'm going to see how the fescue does in the front and then worry about the back yard next year. All the Southern Gold seed at Lowes has a test date of 8/2008 on it and the Lesco Transition at Home Depot has 12/2007 on it. The Rebel elite had 2/2009. I can't make my mind up and I'm probably worrying or over thinking what to buy.

I've had excellent results with the Rebel TTTF @ Lowes, I just purchased 3-50 Lb bags myself and used it last fall with great results this year.

Did you get the elite? They have two kinds I think. Rebel IV which is just tall fescue and the rebel elite is a blend.

Smart shopper--low quality at discount stores. Don't buy the old seed--germination loses about 3 percent each month. Worse under certain conditions of storage.

I was curious yesterday and called a local nursery and they have Wolfpack, Confederate, Signature, Gold, and Kentucky 31. So now I'm debating on one of these. She recommended the Wolfpack or the Confederate has anybody had any experience with these. I didn't want to start another thread, I thought everybody would be getting tired of seeing me post about different grass seeds.
