I know I'm late to the game but I haven't been able to use my new Hustler in at least 2 months because of how dry we've been here lately. Because of that I never acted on the recall.

The good news is that it's started raining for the last week and now the grass is starting to turn green from brown. I called my dealer today and they are going to send a guy out next week to get this fixed. Big thanks to both Hustler and Valley Farm Equipment!

Hate to bump an old thread, but my recall still has not been done. The dealer I bought it from will not call me back. I contacted hustler turf through their webform and there has been no response. Combining this with the fact that I don't think my mower does a great job, makes me want to unrecommend them to a few people.

PJ has moved onward and upward so I'm trying to fill in. Your issues with recall kit is very disturbing. Shoot me an PM with your model and serial number and the dealer that you are having issues with.

Can you elaborate a bit more on this please? What are your issues?

I know its a late reply, but here goes.

The mower bogs down constantly. It leave lots of stragglers. First cut of the year, and I have stalled it twice on the highest desk setting there is. I was going fairly slow as well. The grass was wetter than I expected, and it was pretty long in spots. I will have to wait until the next cutting to give a fresh opinion.

A friend of mine suggested different blades, and checking the rake of the deck. I probably should have bought a blue mower from him, but I really wanted a yellow one.

The recall has still not been performed. I got some e-mails and a phone call, but all communication has ceased.

Last year the dealer I bought it from said to keep using it until the recall is performed. Hope he was right.

You need to get a hold of your dealer to fix the issue. The trouble with the vent did not effect all units, but we just blanket the entire production time.
It wont blow up on you but the issue should be addressed before it makes a mess.

    Found a new dealer.
    Recall completed.
Talked to him about my cut problems, He had some ideas.
The new dealer was great. He will get my future business.
Ordered some new blades from him because he was so helpful.

    Choose your dealer wisely.
