I like to visit gardens and go on garden tours when I am on vacation. Sometimes they are hard to find and they can keep odd hours but I enjoy it none the less. I am asking for recommendations of gardens you have been to or public gardens in your area.

They do not need to be limited in any way I would love to hear about European gardens and I have heard of some great ones in Canada too. Problem is it is always in passing and never written down. So all I can remember is there are some great gardens in Canada.

I will kick it off by listing The Garden Conservancy www.info@gardenconservancy.org as a great resource for tours of private gardens across the US. I have also been to and would recommend Longwood Gardens in New Orleans (pre Katrina)
    Huntington Gardens in Pasadena Calif.

I look foreword to everyones contributions.

OARDC, Wooster, OH - one of the largest crabapple collections in USA
Kingwood Gardens, Dayton, OH - beautiful
Swathmore College, Philly, PA - great botanical garden
Geneva on the Lake, Canada -up from the falls, has large floral clock
    All should have websites.
So many places to see and so little time to see them.

    The list goes on.
Golden Gate Park, San Fran, CA - awesome, has the pollarded London Plane trees that have been in many movies.
Japanesee Garden, San Fran, CA - can't sit there long enough to take it all in.
University of Tennessee, display gardens, Knoxville, TN - gets better every year.

I love the azaleas at Callaway. I met Fred Gallo, the Godfather of azaleas there when I was in college.
