Don't get a Redmax strato-charged blower! They take a long time to warm up, especially the 5100 and 7100. The old EB7001 was much better. I would get the Shindaiwa EB802. I do have the BR 600, and it's great, and will rip the leaves and moss out of the grass down to bare dirt. First pull every time, and ready to go with no warmup. But I am pretty much certain that the Shindaiwa EB802 is quite a bit better than my BR 600, and certainly much better than the ridiculously heavy and expensive Redmax's.

I agree, stay away from the Redmax strato charged units. The older Redmax EB7001 is the sister unit to the Shindaiwa EB630 and both were bullet proof.

Never had any issues with any of my Shindaiwa stuff. However, I do maintain my own equipment which is all in good shape and I use Stabil (always). The Shindaiwa EB802 is 2 cycle, has the same output of the big, bad and blue Shindaiwa 4mix backpack blowers. Check out the specs @ Shindaiwa.com

Also, Shindaiwa has a seven day return policy. If you don't like it, bring it back for a full refund. What do you have to lose ...??? :weightlifter:

My BR 600 is very quiet, and takes over an hour to run out of it's tiny 47 oz. gas tank! Very fuel efficient. The best thing about it is FIRST PULL every time. It still starts first pull in 25 degrees! Mine is 2 years old, and other than a valve adjustment (very simple to do) after the first year, it's been very good. Lots of power. I don't think it's the very best blower out there, but it's probably one of the top 3 made.

As for your situation, I would go with which ever one has good dealer support. This is what matters. All of the ones you mentioned are good blowers as far as I'm concerned. The Echo and Kawasaki are probably behind the others a little in power, but they are still good.

just to let you know.. the shindy EB633 is the echo PB755.

shindaiwa and echo belong to the same holding company now... I believe, correct if I'm wrong but pull up a pic of these to blowers and you can tell..

my vote goes to Stihl because I am a little guy and I like how light they are.
