My redmax 7001 has been shocking my hand when near the throttle control. Any clues to what is going on? It runs good and is only a couple months old.

Our trimmers shock the crap out of us so we wrapped the area between the switch and rubber handle with electrical tape. No more shocks.

Many have reported the same problem. I used to have this problem with an early model echo trimmer I had. I did what wojo suggested, wrapped the connections in electrical tape=problem solved.

Welcome to the world of high performance blowers.

A static charge builds up when the air is dry and will discharge to the closest ground. Shindaiwa's EB630, which uses the same engine, has a static discharge cable inside the blower tube.

Yes on a dry day my shin eb630 will give a little shock but if its morning or damp out its fine.
