is there a huge difference between the 2. i never used the 8000. i know here in nj with those big maple leaves the 4800 blows ok, but when you have a big pile going the 4800 hardly moves it. will the 8000 take care of it????

No comparison!! Heck the 4800 doesn't come close to a 7000 or 7001.

A Rake will move anything just as good? As a blower

For me, raking is a last resort. Blowing is a little less labor intensive, and the volume of leaves that you can move with a good backpack blower is much greater. But, on rare occasions, I find that sometimes a rake is the best tool for the job.

oh my god yes there is a huge difference between my 8000 and my 7000 and an even bigger difference from my 6400. The 8000 was taking the windrows my 7000 was making and pushing them like 15-20 ft easily.

Using a rake for leaf removal is like using a spoon to dig a ditch.

I thought that your name " Duramax99" refered to GM's powerful duramax diesel, now i'm guessing Kotex makes a better pad.

I am sorry if I offened anyone but a highly sophisticated tool like the rake is used to do clean - ups the right way. I am sorry if you broke a sweat to use one. Just remeber tines down and you will be all set.
