What if one was to go for the 7001 to cut a little on the price. any complaints other than the 8000 is stronger

The very powerful "queen" to the Almighty 8000 "king"...

Actually, my buddy has a brand new 8000, And I have a two season old 7001 I picked up @ a pawn shop... Mine ain't too much weaker than his, But the difference is big enough that I'd PROBABLY buy the 8000 if I was to buy new...I can see it being worth maybe the @ $30 price difference between the two.

8000's Do Not Like Very Very Hot Weather...Over 100farenheit w/Humidex This Week and 8000's Say No Thank You We Are Only Working 3/4 Throttle...Because of the Enviro Nut Carbs.... The 7001 Handle the Heat Just Fine.

...oh about a million times better.
    I own Stihl br400
    Redmax 7000,7001 & 8000

7000 and 7001 are fairly equal. Very good blowers. The 8000 is a workhorse. If you just go blow grass with the 7001 and 8000 you will think they are close in power. Put them in leaves or wet grass conditions and the truth will amaze you.

I bought a 7001 back in April and I absolutely love it.

It has an insane amount of power.

I agree with Lawnboy. I can't wait to use it at the end of a job.

I can't speak for the 8000, but I'm more than happy with the 7001.
