Doing a maintenance on my old EB431 Redmax blower and have recently noticed blue smoke coming out of muffler and pretty potent smell of exhaust fumes to deal with. What's up with this? I'll bet a new muffler is not going to fix it, right? May be time to save up for a new one I guess. Thanks for suggestions/advice.

Probably, your fuel mix has a bit too much oil in it. I mixed a batch of fuel that was supposed to be 40:1 for my PB4600, and it ended up being around a 20:1 mix instead, it smokes like crazy, but its nothing serious. a little extra oil never hurt a 2 stroke.

Heh, it'll hurt the spark plug some though. Can you say CARBONED

Thanks LawnMasters, I'll make sure correct mix next time. May be cheaper 2 stroke oil I'm using. Hope it's ok.

That screen in the exhaust outlet.

I remove mine from new machines immediately. Pull yours out (pliers). If it is clogged, fire up the machine and wala double the horsepower. The machine will tolerate too much oil better without the screen.

Put a new spark plug in too.
