Redmax EB vs EBZ do you need the higher octane?

    i heard for the EBZ series you have run 89 + or they dont run right compared to the older EB. whats the story on this????
  2. At least the last 10 years of machines i've ran, they have always recommended 89 octane, min,,

    The reason behind it has to be C.A.R.B. rules that the federal EPA later adopts. EMISSIONS are the reasons for octane requirement.

    Funny thing I've noticed, lowest octane you'll find in CA is 87 yet when I was in Ga, 86 is what I saw, what gives?
