I am going to be buying a Redmax EB7001 Backpack. My question to all of you: Should I get the left hand throttle or the pistol grip?

Spend a little more and get the 8000 IMO...I got 3 of them last Fall.

left hand throttle, easier on you and one less thing to break with less wires

Not everyone can afford to spend a little more ($100?) like you big guy. :p

A 7001 will do the job just fine. Get whichever one you are already accustomed to using.

At this Point you May want to Wait for the 8001....avail. mid summer...or the Echo 850....if not Spend the eXtra on the 8000...The 7001 is Pretty Weak.

    Pretty weak? lol

He didn't ask which one to get; he asked what configuration he should get it in. Can we stay a little more on topic? I got the tube mount throttle. Its all about what you perfer. Try them on.

    RIGHT HAND................

the right hand has a throttle lock so their is no problem with right hand trigger fatigue.....

plus it leaves your left hand free to pick up branches, garbage...

I think the left hand throttle stalk is just something else that will break..

I do recommend the 8000 as well. I think I got my mine delivered for 479... not much more than the 7001.... They sell the 8000 for 550 in local stores....

    Compared to the's Pretty Weak.

7001 Power Runs just a little under the Echo 750's.

I Like the Hips for Leaves & Tubes for Mow & Blows.
