Seems like most of the people here,so far, prefer the Redmax. I've got 2 of the 8001's. They have great power, and I haven't had a single problem from either. I don't have a BR 600, but I do have several Stihl 4 mix pieces, and will NEVER by another again. I've had lots of problems with my 4 mix stuff, not even mentioning having to have the valves adjusted.

I've been buying RedMax blowers for many years. I have 4 8001's. I've had Echo, sthil, Maryama (for an hour). After I bough my 1st RedMax I gave the Sthil to my brother-in-law, and sold the others. They are a real time saver. A real bargan.

I can tell you from the experience of owning and working on both models, the Redmax 8001 wins hands down. I've had my Stihl BR600for a little over 2 years and bought it at the same time as I bought a Redmax 7001. The 7001 has held up well, but I've had to replace the plastic frame twice. Still, it works much better than the BR600. The 8001 I bought last year blows them both away (pardon the pun). I've used it now for 2 seasons and have had no issues with it and it is just as powerful as the day I bought it. The BR600 on the other had is just about ready to go in the garbage can. I will NEVER buy another one, and I have lots of other Stihl equipment, but the blowers are terrible. I've made just about every adjustment possible and it still can barely blow a dry leaf - meanwhile the Redmaxes are still going strong. The design of the BR600 is nice, but it doesn't have enough power and it is picky about the type of 2 stroke oil you use. My dealer recommended synthetic only($$$) but that still didn't help. Plus, as everyone has said, it needs to have the valves adjusted often.

My opinion, go with a Redmax. You may get a good running Stihl, but why take the chance. Since they are relatively close in price, I would go for the sure thing and get the 8001.

I have 5 Red Max 8001, and Sware by them. With that being said if the guys do not treat them right a lot of the plastic parts will tend to break. Treat them well, and they will definitly return the favor.

Have the 8001 and the BR600 and will continue to have one of each. Both have positives for my business. The frame issue with the 8001 has been taken care of by recall on the old units. I would believe the new units are fixed.
I have had the 600 for 3 years and have had needed no adjustments yet. I like the contained design with no wires hanging off. The 8001 is a hurricaine and when we put the 2 together nothing has a chance. I couldn't tell you which one to buy because I am always going to have one of each.

I am happy with the 8001 Redmax beast. The thing blows any loose cement out of drives. Any more power and I may have to fix drives and retaining walls. :dizzy:
Never owned a Br600. Plenty of people happy with them on here too. You just have to flip a coin. You can get a lemon with anything you buy

I'm happy with my BR 600, runs like a raped ape and blows like crazy. But both of the blowers are good models and are there respective brands top performers. Either one will move alot of leaves very fast, so it just comes down to personal preference.
