I was wondering if anyone with RedMax experience could assist with a problem that I am having with the blades on an LRTZ2401 trimmer. A few weeks ago, the hedge trimmer blades stopped working while the machine was being used. I opened the gear case and found that the lower blade had broken where it attaches to the cam that drives the blades. I replaced the blade, adjusted the blade screws and utilized the machine again. A day or so later, the trimmer stopped working again. I opened the gear case and the lower blade broke again where it attaches to the cam. This time I noticed that there was a wear mark on the cam. It looks as if the cam was rubbing slightly on the gear case cover. Should I use a thicker gearcase gasket? The unit is only two years old. Any help would be appreciated.
