    We traded in all the redmax trimmers and got tanaka's. And the tanaka's are better by far.

    the tanaka runs alot smoother, and I think its alot better balanaced.

    Thanks for all the help guys. I ended up going with a Shindy T242. Seemed that the Shindy dealer was most helpful and has a good rep.

    Good choice. I have the M242 which is the multi tool version of yours. I have the short hedge trimmer attachment and I use it as hedge trimmer 100% of time.

    I found it easy to start, no cold nature at all. Not too loud also. I have a chance to use another one for a few weeks and just as good. Nothing like people complaining about the new engines that are cold nature and hard to start.
