I have searched and searched, and cannot for the life of me, find anything about registering my business in Michigan.

How would I get a business license and register my business?

    This is all for Michigan.

If you are a sole prop you can get a DBA at you local court house. If you want to be an LLC or other corporation you will need to get a lawyer to draw up the papers. The DBA will allow you to register you business name and do banking in your business name etc.

Why would you need a attorney? Cost is $60 and you can get the paperwork off the State website. under "Business & Economic Growth"

I don't think you can get a DBA at your local courthouse. You will need to file it with the county clerks office down town. You don't need a license unless you are doing pesticide applications or some cities may require one to work there.

Contact your local county clerk's office. They will take care of your needs.
