Am in the process of having a Toro system installed with 10 zones and the controller is on the side of the house in a rather inconvenient location. It is located near the pump and backflow preventer and installer pointed out that other locations which might be more desireable from the homeowner's perspective are blocked by concrete as far as running wires and hooking it up goes. He said they make a remote control but it is really meant for a temporary hook-up the technician would use to help programming and that the transmitter is not meant to be left in the weather. Are there options to make this a permanent installation with remote control for the homeowner?

Is the Toro EZ-Remote a permanent installation system? Brochure seems to suggest it is for trouble shooting

Is the house on a slab or crawlspace? A slab limits controller location but a crawlspace allows access to the entire perimeter of the house.
Is the well also your drinking water source? I'm wondering why there is a BF beside a pump?
    Pictures would help...........

We had a lot of patios in the way of routing wiring and wanted to avoid external conduit also. House is on a conditioned crawlspace and well supplies both the house and irrigation. Irrigation is supplemented by a 3500 gal tank buried that is connected to the roof downspouts. Well maintains the tank at 1/2 full with a float valve through a 5 gallons per min flow restrictor and runoff from the roof fills it to the top when availablle.

    for a remote....I would recommend a S&W 4586. Should do the trick.
