Well jim when things turn into T/M.

And you need to check Leaks on pipe status of stuck valves that run on a pump start.Should the client be charged XYZ an hr for Joey sprinkler to stand at the clock or walk to the clock every 15 mins.

it saves steps which saves time when on T/M means $$

That didn't answer the question. You're going to charge XYZ regardless. If you charge the client for 15 minutes, its a wash. The client pays for the time and materials. If you are saving the client 15 minutes (for sake of argument) it just cost you 15 minutes.

I know that the remote saves you time, which is what you bill the client. The less time that you are onsite, the less the client pays. It also means you have less billable time which means less money in your pocket.

Serviceman savings would come from allotted time not being used, but full minimum time being billed just the same. For a half-hour minimum time, the remote isn't a big moneymaker on a case-by-case basis.

8 hr day, 40 hr week. How many more jobs?

    Overtime don't count.

You can be required to remain on site for the duration of the billable time. A service call is just what it implies, you're there to service.

You can figure that if mrs. XYZ is home and sees you come and go in ten minutes and you bill for sixty you're going to get a call from mr. XYZ. There's gonna be an argument and you'll prolly be 60 days out on the check.

More jobs is less about the money per day than it is about maintaining a larger client base with the same labor pool.

Gives you more customers to upsell to during the slow months of Aug/Sept. Having the correct tools also shows the customer why you charge MORE than the other guy that last serviced it, making you more money. Maybe that's the answer Jim.

Jim- Maybe you can explain how the customer saves money while you are making more money using a LOCATOR
