Would having removable front baffles make discharge cleaner in heavy turf conditions? Chamber to chamber discharge would be less impeded.

    casey,

Actually just the opposite will happen or should. When we first tested the Flow Control Baffles this was one of its benefits. We saw increase discharge velocity, quality of cut and a reduction in horsepower requirements.

Without a baffle we noticed the grass would lay around and tumble towards the front area of the deck. The baffles directing it towards the discharge shoot. The baffle helped by picking the grass up, holding it up above the rotating blades and smoothing out the flow or efficiency of the grass to the discharge opening.

This is how we increased the quality of cut and reduced horsepower. If you are having problems you should check belt tension, what blade you are using, spring loaded idlers, and the pitch of the deck. These are most likely fixes. Let us know how it comes out.

    Thanks, Fred.

I was interested because one of your competitors has gone this route for their new WB model & claims a better discharge in thick turf.
