Remove Echo Line Trimmer Head?

The head on my echo line trimmer broke. The bolt that comes out of the center of the shaft seems to have sheared off almost completely, making an after market speed feed nearly impossible to install.

I there a way to remove the old head entirely and install the new head, or is it time to snap my echo across my knee, toss it in a trash can, light it on fire, and laugh maniacally?

Heads can be easily taken off. And the entire gear box can be replaced also if their is a gear box problem Don't understand what sheared off?

The bolt that holds the star shaped bump n feed portion in place is broken.

Is there a manual or something I can look at to help with this? Even a diagram would help.

You can look up your model under the technical document link(right side of the page) on the Echo site.
