removing shield from trimmers

    Also check with the manufacturer because removing the guard does void the warranty..

    I took the shield off my trimmers about a two months ago and was amazed at how much faster and easier the trimmer was to handle. I have not notice any significant difference in the amount of debris it throws. My pants leg are always covered in grass after while not matter whether the guard is are or not. And the guard definitly is not a subsitute for safety glass.<p>Jay

    I take the guard off all of my trimmers right away. Without the guard, obviously the string extends longer, that in turn WILL wear out the clutch much faster, but the time saved is worth it.<p>----------<br>SJR Lawncare<br>

    Have one without and one with, just raised it up coupel of inches and works fine.
