So this guys front yard is 60x27, with one big old maple in it, and completely brown... dead. Ive never been there before, but he told me the whole yard was overtaken by weeds, (looked like purslane and nutsedge to me) so he took it upon himself to roundup the whole lawn. Then he tried to rake out everything but the dirt, but then realized he would rather hire someone. There's a 10x10ish portion that just looks like a rototiller accident. I need to give him a price tomorrow and I want to make sure I get it right. I was thinking -run a bluebird over it a couple times, rake up and bag the heavy mess -throw an edge on the sidewalk and weedwack where necessary -blow off once quick -dress the lawn with 2yds topsoil -spread maybe 35lbs of a rye seed -run the bluebird once again but with the blades lowered -dress it with peat moss -cleanup I know if I tell him to water it he'll have a lawn again within 3 weeks. So is $500 too much!?
