Is it faced stone with a structure? Or is it stone that is mortared together with no structure?

Either way, if there is a structure behind the stonework, be it block or poured concrete and it is not damaged simply knock the stone away, either re-use it or chip new stone.

    Is it stacked or veneered?

If the structure is damaged you will need to make repairs accordingly. I really need to know more about the wall.

Can you get a digital picture? That would help us all out a lot in regards to giving you advice.
