I will be changing out a noisy hydro gear BDP-10 pump on my 2000 lazer hp.
What is the best way to prime the new pump ? I do not want a Dry startup.
Would like some input from someone who has done a hydro pump swap.I am familiar with purging system of air.Hate to damage the new pump so any input would be greatly appreciated. LazerZHP

All Hydro-Gear pumps are factory tested with a break-in oil before shipped, So there will be ample oil left in the pump to eliminate a dry start-up. By time you get the tank refilled with oil it will have gravity fed into the pump also. So just install, Bleed the air from the system and go mow.

Restrorob, Thank you for the info. Planning to do the swap out on Saturday.
Hope it holds together for one more mow day.
