What do you guys recommend for a residential stick edger, to maintain a crisp edge on my mulch bed?

I was looking at either Stihl or Redmax?

    Anyone?

Both make excellent products. If you are not going to be using it for commercial lawncare you might want to look at an Echo product since they are not as expensive as a Stihl or Redmax. If you want a stick edger that will last a lifetime for a homeowner... the Stihl FC-75 is the ticket.

I like both makes Stihl and Redmax, but I was leaning towards the Stihl for the edger.

But this will give me a crisp edge on my mulch bed?

Either stick edger (or most any other) should give you the crisp edge you are looking for. The main differences between pro and homeowner 2-stroke equipment has more to do with power, ease of use/comfort, and quality of components (engine, shaft, etc.); not so much the "quality" of work.
