I have a question about what to put behind retaining wall blocks. A customer has a sidewalk parallel to the road. They want retaining wall blocks stacked two high along the (road) side of the sidewalk. It will look good from the road, but when you're on the other side of the sidewalk all you'll see is the back side of the retaining wall blocks. Is there anything to put on the backside of the blocks to improve the looks?

They wanted the retaining wall blocks that have the lip on the back for stacking. Anchor Windsor Stone stacked along the sidewalk. Just thought someone would know what I could put on the backside so you wouldn't see the back of them.

Can you legally place those walls on street side? Here we have city parking strip/right of way ordinance..no blocks, paving etc....just landscaping shrubs, grass mulch and the like.

Otherwise douoble side is the way to go.
