You get what you paid for. Sure a black and white flier gets the message across, but what percentage of people have their eyes catch onto a boring black and white flier, rather than a full color glossy and well put together flier.

Are you a professional? Do you want a professional image for your company? I will never put out anything less than my best with anything , and i know for a fact that black and white fliers are not going to ever be 'my best'.

To be honest, printing fliers on normal printing paper(8.5x11) is .10 each at kinkos for one sided, and .20 for both sides to be printed on(so if you divid it by 3 : i.e. cut the piece into three different fliers after you print them) It comes to around .033 cents each or .07 cents each for both side printing. When you go to a post card or door hanger company you can get 2500 for 180-200 dollars. so thats .075 cents each. You are are saving half of a penny on each by doing it on black and white.

I printed 15,000 post cards this year for lawn maintenance for just under .065 cents each. I am doing to be doing a niche service and advertising JUST mulch installation and delivery with an additional 10k post cards.

I really like the look of the glossy colored postcards. kajun had a good example he posted about 2 weeks ago.

People like to look at beautiful landscapes/properties.

Furthermore, they costs difference isn't all that much as pointed above.

I once used a green paper with black print, the paper was les than a .01$ more than white, they actually looked good.

Glossy color print looks the best.

Neighter one ever helped me get much business, other fellers on here have had success.

You could get some glossy business cards and attach them to the flyer, the potentual cliant might actually keep a business card.

Thanks for the input. I'm doing all the above this Spring. There is a method to my madness. :)

I will be self printing on my own old laser printer limited runs. I'm thinking way outside the box on this. Something old, something new, something inquisitive and techy. Something different, something to slow down the trip to the trash can dramaitcally.

    Thanks Larry,

I already have a Gucci biz card that matches my trailer graphics. My graphics artist just needs to tweak it and reorder.

Will most likely go with door hangers for "all the above services" and outside the box flyers for specific specials or targeted services.
