    Approximately how many square feet will a ton of rip rap cover

    Probably around 40-50 depending on the size of rip-rap

    Uh oh! thats less that I figured. I guessed a ton per 100 sf

    That number is based on 3"-6" rip rap @ 6-9" depth. If your rip rap is 6-12" that number is more like 30 sq. ft.

    Thank you Chris, Id better change my bid then. I will be rip rapping a 2,700 sf area.

    a ton of rock is about one Bobcat scoop, which covers about 18 sq ft at 2".
