Its in the works....so hard to find a place around here that doesnt cost a fortune.

I don't remember the exact brand. I know I did a lot of research and quickly found that the torsion bar keys are all pretty much the same, they are just forged steel. I have those in the front and 2" blocks in the rear.

just signed the lease on a shop! I'll be moving in next weekend! its 1,000 square feet, plenty of room to work on and store all the equipment. Not much in the way of outdoor storage, but I SHOULD be able to pull 2 trucks in at once, or a truck and a trailer.

I have the bay furthest back. As I said not much in the way of outdoor storage but if things go according to plan, then in the spring I'll have an enclosed trailer to keep the mowing rig in and that can stay hooked up to #2 at night and backed up tight to that fence and the other building so it would be hard to get into and then I want to make my current open trailer permanently set up for strictly landscaping and leave all the tools and gear on that at all times but I should be able to put that and #3 inside every night.

what's the rent for something like that?

Looks like a nice place, and it's much bigger than what you had, so good for you.

My two Concerns (if it were for me):

1.Those huge windows on the garage door
2.Sharing the building with other people.

Is the building open between the units? Either way it doesn't really matter as long as you trust the people next to you. Guess you could always put some pallet racks up next to the gaps lol. Also curious about the rent, around here that would be anywhere between $200/mo and $600/mo depending on where it was located. I'd love to find something similar but I don't have the cash flow to support something like that yet.

yes the move cant happen soon enough!

I don't mind the windows, actually it would drive me crazy to be holed up in some place with no way to look out lol. As far as sharing it, the people in the other part of the building seem cool, a couple guys my age just starting an auto repair business. They seem friendly and willing to work with me so we'll see how it goes.

It was originally all one big shop, but now theres actually a block wall going up in between me and the rest of the place. They are doing that this week otherwise I would have moved in already lol.

Rent is $600/ month, and trust me thats CHEAP around here for what I looked at. I could drive 25-30 min North-East and have a place twice the size for that price, but to me it makes no sense to drive 30 min from my house to get my stuff, drive 30 min back to my "work area" then at the end of the day drive 30 min back to the shop and 30 min back home. Granted if I looked out that way I would be right on top of the nurseries and the mulch/topsoil place but I don't necessarily got there every single day. The place has security cameras and an alarm system which adds a little piece of mind but to be honest I feel more secure here than at my house because there is literally stuff laying all over outside at my house because I have nowhere else to put it. So at least it will all be inside. Oh the place is also about 3 doors down from my Echo/Toro dealer too!
