I have been looking at an opportunity to do a contract with a township that has several acres of easy mowing. The one real problem I run into is it also includes a couple miles or so of roadside to mow. Does anyone have any input on using a ZTR for mowing roadsides? I'm thinking of just setting it at 5" but figure it would still be a rough ride and scalp with every rut. The roadsides aren't particularly rough, just average roadside.

I use a toro z for mowing 3 miles of roadside in one neighborhood and 8 open areas along the roadway in two other neighborhoods.

I see a lot of use of 3-wheelers on the roadside mowing around here but then that would involve buying a new rider.

My only concern would be a more than usual number of flats due to glass and litter...dunno.

I plan to use self-sealing slime in my tires no matter where I mow. I will likely get an air tank for the truck as well, in case I should loose too much pressure before it seals.
