My experience is LS install, maint. for a builder(wifes uncle) in rural Williamson Cty, TN. Then, I got a good size job at a friends home based on my work for the builder. That led to a hardscape job at a home down the road. I know I can't count on bigger projects to come along regularly so I'm looking for ways to build cash flow. Could anyone recommend a source for flier templates(preferably free.) I have a 46" Craftsman tractor and can use the uncles shindaiwa trimmer and echo blower 22" push mower. I have the hand tools, an Explorer and small trailer.

As it is now fall, what would be suggested activities in the coming months regarding building the business? All help is greatly appreciated. This is a great site. I found it a few days ago and have spent hours browsing the posts and devouring all of the great information. Thanks in advance. Be well.

you can go to a local print shop and get fliers made...advertise fall cleanups...things like removing leaves, putting mulch in flower beds, and stuff like that....my local print shop designed it for me and put a picture of a lawnmower on it and stuff like that and charged $24 for 250 flyers and $36 for 500 fliers....the more you buy the cheaper the price is per flier

thanks kilgoja. have you used door hangers with and gotten higher success rate than fliers? also, is there one mistake that you made starting out that you would care to pass on for me to avoid?

well lol...i'm kindof just starting out myself...i got a few customers by going door to door but that seems to take too long...so i'm trying the flier thing next...gonna pick them up today and put them out and see what happens...i haven't tried door hangers...you can always tuck the fliers into the edge of the door which would be the same thing pretty much
