Usually you use these going around the Bamboo surrounding the plant.. Well, a lady I'm doing a bid for has a neighbor who had planted Bamboo on the edge of their property. The lady I'm doing the bid for wants me to put a barrier right on the property line so the roots won't encroach on her property.

She wants just 5-6linear ft of barrier preventing encroachment. is that enough? Would it be smarter to run a barrier the length of the property line (40-50ft)? Local nusery tells me Bamboo roots can get outta hand.

Bamboo roots go through everything...even concrete.

There is a root barrier mat that you can buy which has herbicides or PGR's on it which will not let roots pass through them. Check into it. However they have to go down like 2 feet probably.
