root intrusion

    This Toro 734 valve in head wasn't popping so we dug it up and found this. I just took this place over, I wonder how long the other company ignored this. It was good we got to replace it with an 834 which has a taller riser.

    Wow that is wild. I have not seen any thing like that happen before. Looks like that root was determined to stay its course.

    Maybe it just only stopped working recently. It happens. Is that area only covered by the FC heads?

    There is a line of pgps along the drive to the right but nothing to the left of the big toros.

    Whew, I know that feeling when you find out the head is surrounded by roots. Have a job that has a broken head and lateral under it and it is completely encircled by a 4" root. Break out the sawzall.

    I normally have 1 of those a year, put the sawzall to the test. The old golf head bring back some memories for me when I first started out in irritation.

    Is the solenoid in the first photo a 24 VAC one? Black and red wires make me think DC

    I think we have done at least 10 root problems this year already.

    The toro stuff i've seen is 24VAC and red and black...
