I have seen different threads pertaining to using doubles.

Would like to hear from those using doubles on scag Z-cat or similar?

I tried doubles on my own personal yard (St. Augustine grass), However i really didnt see any difference accept for more blowout and sounding like a boeing 747 taking off.

95% of mowing is St. Augustine (Subdivisions) with the rest being Bahaia grass .

What is the main pupose for doubles? Are you guys mainly using them for the yards that are cut bi-weekly or severly overgrown yards, fields, etc...

I just dont see for everyday use the benefit. Can someone please educate me on this matter. Thanks.

    1) Additional lift is gained by running doubles.
    2) The grass clippings are rechopped more than running singles.

    All I have for now...

I ran doubles for a couple of months on one of my Scags and burnt the gearbox up on the back of the deck. Try running a 3" wide high lift on the non discharge side and regular high lifts on the other two.
