My family has a well that produces a good amount of light crude oil all year long. I am wanting to purchase a 94 7.3td to run crude all summer while mowing basically for free. Does anyone know if this is possible? My father runs it in his 06 duramax but he has the money to replace his truck if something bad happens? Please reply if you know anything. This crude is filtered when coming out of the tank into my tank and I would change my fuel filter every month april thru oct. Thanks!!

It will work. My family has wells like yours in NY and they run all the farm diesels and trucks off it. You need to add anti gel and use a preheater in winter or cut it with regular diesel.:usflag:

I have run used motor oil but crude is usually thick as heck.

There are 1micron bags you can buy on eBay that will filter very well.
Duramax doesn't have a lift pump so the cp3 would have to work very hard.. And they are far from cheap.

This comes out higher in viscosity than you would expect. Its also naturally low in sulphur and ash. It actually looks more green than black. :usflag:

This will not clog injectors or anything?? I was planning on putting in some anti gel stuff from auto zone with the crude. Also these 1 micron bag filters is that better than a few fuel filters?

It takes a considerable financial investment to drill these wells. Which is why most landowners just lease out the parcels for a cut of the output. These wells also put out natural gas that can be used inside the house for heat.

Just so you know A local guy that I talk with was hit a few weeks back by a state trooper scaled his truck and they check his fuel too in F450, he was clean but they can look.
