I noticed one of my lawns that was re-seeded with ryegrass for winter color ,has developed a white powdery substance on the tips of the blades,,,,,,what gives?? any ideas. All the info I have on Ryegrass says nothing about this condition.

    Any thoughts welcome

Probably Powdery Mildew. A fungal infection.

    Basically harmless. Just looks bad.

  3. What type turf did you seed? Weather conditions? Sounds like powdery mildew to me.

I overseeded a crappy bermuda/centipede lawn...weather: low's in the 40's highs in the 60's-70's no rain, just irrigation. Also I noticed that some of the tips are slightly brown and shriveled. The cust applied a winter fert 2 days ago also.
