My Dad has a JD that when he goes in reverse it shuts the blades off. We realize it's for safety but, it drive him crazy...

Can this be disconnected? If yes, how?

I am sure this can be disconnected, but without seeing the machine it would be hard for me to tell you how to do it. I have to agree that I would disconnect it if it wouldn't run blades in reverse...even my walk behind mower will run blades in reverse. In fear of liability I am not sure if someone on this forum would want to tell you how to disconnect.

I have a JD LX255. In order to keep the mower running when in reverse, you need to pull the PTO button up and hold it up until you have moved into reverse - then you can let it go. It is an annoyance at times, but once you get used to it, becomes habit.
