What type of sand do you add to your sealer mixture? Black Beauty or Silica sand. Do you prefer one to the other and why?

You should use a 30/60 mesh sand or "fine" sand. Black beauty sould only be used in a piston pump.

Many sealers have problems holding black beauty. Coal tar needs a good additive and plenty of it (4-5%)
You can experiment with what you use.
Especially asphalt emulsions don't hold it well without highly specialized additives.
Black beauty can be used in ddiaphragm pumps with the proper diaphragm material; (like Buna-N) the problem is most manufacturers (again) keep the price down by using the cheapest diaphragms available, durable or not.
Well-made pistons; it just doesn't matter.
