Do you guys like the driveshaft/gearbox deck drive system Scag uses. It probably has pretty good belt life doesn't it? Anybody have issues with the driveshaft or gearbox?

Well, I suppose in reality it's a "driveshaft" but it's one that is being driven off of the electric clutch by a belt. It's more "buzz word" and sales pitch than anything else. No performance gain or loss either way. Now if it were driven direct from the engine......that would be something to brag about! :usflag:

We have two of them. It's nice not to worry about the belts slipping or flying off as easily. With that said, it costs a lot more to replace the blade driveline (over $500 not including the clutch).

I have an encore prowler with the shaft drive. It has been great! 1500hrs. and no problems!
