My manual says nothing about running synthetic. Just SAE 20W-50 but I will probably use synthetic since my dad is a distributor of the stuff.

We use SAE20-50 non synthetic in all our Scags and have never had a problem. Scag does not require synthetic.

I put synthetic in it. Its all I could find in 20w-50. We will see what happens, can't imagine it would do damage

Just a what if..... Say you were a about a pint low and all you had was 10w40 non synthetic and getting more oil wasn't an option. would you add the 10w40 or run it a pint low?

i would run it a bit low before i mixed oils. It has a reservoir that holds an extra 1.5 quarts.
