    Hello
I have made a choice to buy a Scag Mower, a Turf Tiger, with a diesel engine, there are 2 choices.
    #1 a Cat.
    #2 A Kubota
The Cat with a 61" deck price is 13,500.00
the Cat with a 61" deck price is 14,200.00
    delivered to my door.
The question is is that a good price, and which one to buy.
the Cat has a little more torq.
I have had experience with the Kubota and they haven't given me any problems. There seems to be a lot of people with experience on this site, and I need our advice, this will be used on my property, not commercial

I'd go with Kubota. You could get a Wildcat cheaper but you probably like those Tiger stripes on the rear fenders. :)
    I like my Scag.... :D

I thought they didnt make the kubota anymore? Unless your dealer has a left over from last year.

I talked to the dealer, and he has one coming in next week, and the Scag web site list them as a option.
Have you heard that the Kubota has been discontinued??

Ahhh its great to see someone else is about to buy a Scag. I haven't any experience with a Scag diesel but have used a Kubota tractor of a relative with Kubota diesel for years now. One of the best diesels out there. The cat would be a horse also. That is a tough decision. You already made the best decision going with the Scag! You wo'nt be disaoppointed in either one I beleive. Flip a coin go get it and post some pics on here of it!!!!! :usflag:

Can your dealer do the warranty work on the motor? Find out where you would have to take the Cat motor for any repairs. Both motors are very good.

It would seem that I would have to take it to a Cat or Kubota dealer, I am willing to risk the chance of motor trouble and work it out. I have heard good things about the kaw water cooled engine, but never been around one.
    how about pricing, any thoughts?

Around here the 29 dfi liquid cooled kawasaki is from $9000-10500. Depending on the dealer. Less if you find a leftover unit. Haven't priced a diesel, with the price of diesel and their weight they wouldn't be a good choice for what I mow. If I had a big place that I owned then yes I would be looking at the diesels like you ,but not small residentials and a couple of sets of apartments. My 29 dfi is perfect for what i do.
