scag problems

    My buddy has a 05 tiger club and its lost power and useing to much oil. It has a 24 briggs & stratton any body have any ideas and it only has 300hrs on it. Thanks

    does he change and check the oil levels regularly? Also, my tiger cub started losing power for a bit and I realized that it likes the higher octane gas. use either mid to high grade.

    This may be the 24 Briggs with the faulty air cleaner design on it. I would check into it, it may well have ingested excess dirt due to the faulty filter design, which has since been redesigned.

    Do some internet searches on that Briggs model and you'll find tons of stuff about the faulty air cleaner not sealing properly.
