What would you all consider to be a good price for one of these mowers brand new with a 20 hp Kohler? Thanks for any info.

    spend another $1,000 and get a 61 inch with a 25 or 27hp on it.You will appreciate it.Last year I bought a 10 demo 61 with a 25hp kawi for 6599.00......Just food for thought.The 61 has many advantages a 48.

The cost at my dealer is $5999.95 for the 20 Kohler or 19 Kawasaki. So I think a good deal would be $5000.00 to $5500.00

For a new automobile, a 3% mark- up above dealer cost was the rule for a good deal a few years ago. For new lawn tractors/ztr I've been told 10% above cost is fair, unless it is over stocked, left over or a slow mover, then it would be less.

That was last years dealer cost maybe? There are 3 brackets for dealer cost depending on how many units you spring book. All 3 brackets in my book are higher than $5395. Scag units went up across the board if I sold you this unit for $5500.00 I'd be losing money. The MSRP is $8295 and we sell them for $6899.00 they had a promo price last season of $6000.00. If you can get a unit for less than $6000.00 then buy it.

Yep, that is 2004 pricing, didn't figure on 05's price increase.
