Anybody heard or experienced anything negative with a Scag tiger cub?
We have two both have 19 hp kawasaki's and are 48in decks. One is a 2003 it has 372 hrs with no problems except we had to replace the belts once and the parking brake lever locked up ( our fault we didnt grease it, you must take off the wheels to access it). The other is a 2004 it has 120hrs, all we have done it routine maintenance (still on factor belts). I would highly recommend the Tiger Cub, which model are you looking at? If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them.
I have a 2004 with 150 hours. I think it's a great machine and have had no problems...but like with anything, you have to do the maintenance. Whatever you get, keep the spindles well-lubed and follow all (or exceed) all maintenance schedules.
Ditto to the above posts,
Mine is a 20hp Kohler, 48" cut and I'm very pleased with it.
Mine also have been great, top notch machines.
Nothing from Skag is any good.
i bought the 2004 scag tiger cub 19hp 48this year ,,man i love it
Is this opinion or fact?
I have a 23Kaw Scag Cub 52" that I feel is the Cadaliac of mowers but that's just my opinion.
Purchased a Tiger Cub 52" with the Honda 24hp last month.
150hrs and going strong.
Great stripes and it climbs hills!
Would definitely recommend one!
I have a 2003 cub 19 hp.Had to replace the drive belt at roughly 230 hours besides that it works great.
