I'm in search for a scheduling program. What do you think about the Groundskeeper business software that is offered on here? Or is there a better/cheaper software out there. I'm currently using QuickBooks for my invoices, expenses, etc...... I'm getting a lot more customers and I need a better way to keep track of them so I won't skip someone for that day. Thanks!!!

Ive used CLIP for 10 or so years....it integrates with Quickbooks and can be accessed remotly with a cell phone or tablet-billing takes about 10 minutes at end of month...route sheets take 4-5 minutes to organize and print-
it has the most features out there from what I have seen--

So using Service Autopilot I shouldn't need Quickbooks then?

I'd argue that QB is a much more powerful and essential financial software than service autopilot...you want something more than just a scheduling program which can do billing....

Clip can also be a stand alone program which does both, though I'd say you want to transfer jobs to QB for billing...QB also allows you to download bank data, CC data, expenses etc...allows direct deposits to employees, direct deposits to vendors...lots of other goodies..

Yes you can do a lot with Quickbooks. I've been using it for 2 years. I'm just looking for something for scheduling. I'd hate to leave out or forget a customer. I also got the demo cd of clip last week but I haven't look at it yet.

There is this old fashioned thing called pen and paper;)

I've used CLIP which was a great program until they screwed it up with "visual" (who knows maybe they actually fixed it by now) Switched to QX gold, rented it for something like 5 years before buying. Discovered after the fact that even buying does not mean you own it, you still need a QX generated password to operate. They will not offer support after a year unless you pay their renewal fee and renewal fees accrue up to the new price in case you want to skip a couple of years. Essentially their "purchase price" is a prepaid rental fee with a discount which means you will be ahead of their game after 22 months. I believe they are running version 10.21 or something (I am still running 10.04 form December 2010) which to me indicates they are no longer developing the program beyond where it is. Personally I have never felt the program was "finished", e.g. there are certain actions which allow for shortcut keys, but others don't.

Having said that, I once tried one of those $100 programs and spend more time trying to fix things than actually working the program. QX is not bad for the price and it does integrate well with QB. In spite of my misgivings I would suggest you go this route for routing and scheduling and use QB for your accounting
