hey guys thought you might help me here. Landscape/hardscaper here but I have a question on my rinky dinky $50.00 scott spreader for my house. The rod that goes between the wheels(I think it would be silly calling it an axle) snapped and I was wondering if i could get a replacement. I'm not being cheap(ok maybe a little) but I hate throwing things out and being wasteful. Can I just get one somewhere in the home cheapo? Thanks for any info.!

I know a guy that will make you one for about $60.00 plus shipping.

Drop by Ace hardware. They usually have steel rod in various sizes. Also threaded rod. Remember you have to drill holes for the drive wheel pin and for the cotter pins on each end. Is it a rotary spreader? Then you need to drill a hole for the pin that attaches the gear to the center of the rod. Maybe you can use a wooden dowel--its cheaper.
