Would $200 be a good price for 1/2 acre or less for 50lb lesco seed, aeration, 200lb lime and 50lbs fertilizer? Am I too cheap???;)

    bobdaduke,

As I am not familiar with the pricing in your area, I probably would not be of much help.

Here is how I bid these types of jobs

Aeration= 3-4 times what I would charge to cut the lawn.
50 lbs of lesco seed= $80.00 times two to apply it = $160.00
    Lime= I dont use it
    50 lbs of fertilizer= $40.00 times two to apply it= $80.00

    So lets just say
    Aerate $90.00
    Seed $160.00
    Fertilize $80.00

My total would be around $330.00

    Hope this helps a little

    Jason

So you would double the price of the materials to cover the labor? So may $200 is dirt cheap huh?

Like I said I am not familiar with what the market allows in your area. In my area I seem to be able to price these types of jobs this way, and get them 90% of the time.
I also don't know what your paying for the materials and what your overhead is for a job like this?
Do you Rent or Own the aerator?

I could probably help you more if you share what you think you will profit from the job and how long is it going to take you!

Rent a slit seeder .Forget about using the aerator to spread seed, unless it's bermuda. If you're seeding fesue, you're going to have alot of clumps of grass instead of a thick full lawn.
Also,50 lbs for isn't going to cover 1/2 acre.Apply at 4-5 pounds per 1000 sq feet.1/2 acre is roughly 22,000 sq ft,so you're looking at 88-100 pounds of seed.
$200 is way too cheap.Have you gotten a soil test to determine if lime is needed and use a starter fertilizer for the seed.
