Grass is growing a bit more, but no rain in last two days and temp is 86 at the moment. Crabgrass and a few weeds are beginning to take hold.

The way it is now I would not be surprised for the CG to take over and wipeout the struggling seedlings... did you get any rain last nite??

Well the seed is making some progress, but signs of the first stages of a drought have begun to appear. We had a 5 minute rain, but now it is hot and dry. In the second pic (south side yard) you can see some crabgrass beginning to take hold.

And notice the irrigation. There is a hose box...but...no sign of a hose. As you can see the soil is rather sandy and yellowish soil color probably indicates low fertility.

    But thunderstorms may happen...

Too bad it wasn't watered on time... with a little bit of help it could've been an excellent lawn by now... spring seeding can beat the clock on CG, but not without good care... fertilizer w/out the water won't help either, at this point...

Grass is gradually getting taller and thicker. About 90 degrees in last 4 days, but then 4 tenths of an inch of rain--lucky break. Now cool. Crabgrass is getting bigger also. Someone mowed, but only the taller parts of the lawn. And someone moved the hose to the front and sprinkled. You can see the wet spot on the sidewalk and trees.

And the developer is selling lots about a block away--as you can see the soil is rather sandy. Here is an example of a 3 year-old house with the worst lawn on the block.

Need to add some organics to the sand. The water runs out too fast among other things.

New grass is looking better. Lucky job. We had .8 inches of rain, but only 52 degrees here today. Crabgrass still growing. I will be out of town for next 10 days.

Dormant seeding much better w/out question... One lawn I did completely dormant seeding, from the ground up, didn't have any irrigation either... :)

Here is new seed at 49 days old. Not mowed recently. A hose is present, but irrigation probably not consistent. Recent weather--10 days of warm dry weather. Weeds and crabgrass getting stronger. Color is a bit pale. Fertility is likely low, (sandy soil).

New seed at 55 days old. Weather hot--about 92. Rain irregular--about a half-inch this week. Irrigation with hose probably inconsistent. Hose box and spigot visible on right. Crabgrass and weeds are a bit stronger. Tall weeds indicate no mowing yet.
