Seed How much

    i am new in the seeding thing and was wondering i am buying fescue seed for $70 for 50 lbs and am wanting to seed a 16855 Sq yard the yard will also need areated. What is a round bout figure for this?

    The amount of seed that you need depends on whether you are over seeding an existing lawn or starting from scratch. I typically put out 4-5lbs per 1000 on established lawns and 8-10lbs per 1000 on bare dirt. I think you might have better results if you use a slice seeder instead of aerating.

    Great reply. Price wise, up here, we get around $75/M $75 per 1000 sq. ft.).

    Joe...75 bucks per 1000 sq. ft ?? ... just for over seeding?

    I'm sorry....maybe I should better explain. This is our price or renovation practices....including starter fertilizer.
